Connor's Army Junior
(To make a pledge to Connor's Army Junior
use the link at the bottom of this page.)
My Dad cycled 2,154 miles to raise money for the wat against cancer and I wanted to help.
My Aunt Angela, Aunt TaMara, Aunt Winnie, and my Grandma Connor have cancer.
Connor's Army is my family's way to help win the war against cancer.
Connor's Army Junior is my own way to help.
When I was seven I rode bike for Connor's Army ... just like my Dad. Then I started Connor's Army Junior and rode 50 miles. Now I'm hoping to join my Dad for some of his cross country ride for Sunrise Day Camp in 2011.
You can help me by making a pledge or by finding your own way to help in the war against cancer.
I know lots of kids are effected by cancer and they want to help as much as I do. I have lots of ideas about how kids can raise money to help:
- A lemonade stand on a hot day can be a great fundraiser
(I had one on Memorial Day and raised $187.30 for Connor's Army!)
- You can make jewelry to sell to friends and family
- You could put on a show and sell tickets
- You can have a bake sale (just don't eat too many of the brownies)
- You could set up a cool art gallery of your own drawings for people to buy
- You could sell some of your old toys
(my brothers and I raised $73 this way)
Or you could ride your bicycle like my Dad and me!
I hope you find a way to help - because so many kids love someone who has cancer and it makes them very sad. I love my Aunts and my Grandma, and I want them to get better.
Thank you,
Sarah
